Northeast Louisiana Economic Alliance is a ten Parish Region encompassing Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union and West Carroll. Outstanding regional assets including the UNESCO Poverty Point World Heritage Site. This is the only UNESCO site in the Southeast United States. There are three Universities and eight locations of the Louisiana Delta Community College throughout the Region hosting a greater than 26,000 student population. There is a collaborative educational and business focus on Workforce Development which is expanding the opportunities for existing and new business. In addition to these first-class assets:
- The only State Owned Mega Site: Franklin Farm
- Six Class One railroads in a 100-mile Radius which includes two within the Region.
- Two Mississippi River Ports and a Container Shipping Port on the Ouachita River
- U. S. Highways 165, 425 and 65, State highways 425.
- I-20 crosses the Region and all of North Louisiana and connects to I-49, I-55. North-south 4-lane connectors to I-10 include U. S. Highway 165, U. S. Highway 425 and two-lane access U. S. Highway 65
- Nine Certified sites with strong outbound/inbound resources
- Two regional hospitals and a strong rural health care system
